Load Weighing

K-Tech's NEW K-Weigh 5200 load weighing system begins with the strain gauge sensor which measures the very small deflection of structural steel when the beam is loaded with a weight. That signal is amplified and used to indicate load.

Strain Gauge Sensor
The sensor is made up of strain gauges that are mounted to a steel bar which is then bolted to a structural cross-member. The cross-member bends proportionally to weight when a platform is loaded with freight or passengers. The sensor kit comes with specialized mounting hardware and a heavy-duty cover that is also used as a drill template for easy installation.

Electronic Controls
The electronic controls box contains the amplifier and power supply as well as any configuration modules. The amplifier provides circuits to zero the signal from the sensor(s) and provides the necessary signal gain. Setup is done with pushbuttons and a digital readout. It automatically adjusts the zero setting should the signal drift over time due to mechanical creep or temperature changes. The signal can be adjusted to subtract tare weight (the weight of the container, ropes, etc) resulting in the weight of the load only. Outputs configurable for most applications including analog, set points, 4-20 mA and CanBus.
