Load is added to the elevator (passengers, freight, equipment etc) |

The structural cross-member deflects, causing the sensor(s) to change resistance |

This change in resistance is converted to an analog signal by the K-Weigh electronics |

The electronics amplifies and conditions the signal and transmits it to the elevator controller |

The controller changes the operation of the elevator depending on the weight
(For example, bypass hall calls at 60% of maximum rated load)
